Steve Bannon has a "Project 2025" vision for America. In this America the federal government will be mostly concerned with the military and even expansion (look out Greenland and Canada) Expansion is their answer to climate change which they know is real. The other answer to climate change is hardening the US against climate refugees. Not everyone will make it through this coming crisis and these people don't see that as all bad.

It's a eugenics opportunity. 1/

The majority of Americans will need to find solace in their religion. College will be only for the wealthy (and for the professionals the wealthy need to maintain their lifestyle.) Corporations and churches will be the primary forces of social order and if you can buy your way into a better enclave you can have a longer less chaotic life. Most people will not live as long.

The trick is keeping a majority of people *thinking* they will be inside the gate.

The problem is the numbers don't really add up. They need more educated people than the skeleton crew they are envisioning to keep their lifestyles.

Further a large segment of the population just won't go for it. We don't want to play house like this. I don't want to live in an Amazon convent singing the corporate hymns.

How much of a mess will they make trying to make this happen?

@futurebird Everyone is very focussed on how much of a mess they will make, everyone kind of assumes there will be a reckoning and we will get it back and have a cleanup to do.

I don't think we will.

Our country was not weakened internally. Our divisions were exploited by a canny enemy. That enemy is still operating, in some cases directly controlling its puppet, our beloved Cheeto Fuhrer.

They did not weaken us for no reason.

And power abhors a vacuum.
