"I'm not good at expressing my emotions, listening and I don't know how to be a good friend so I won't benefit from having people who are good at expressing their emotions, listening or being a good friend in my life."

This is a mistake that I held to for too long. And that's without getting into "deserving" eg. "I don't know how to be a good friend so I don't deserve one."
Who are you going to learn from then?

If a person who has more social skills and emotional intelligence gets attached to you for some reason you can learn a lot from them, that's all I'm saying.
You don't "deserve" to be treated as badly as you think you might accidentally treat other people if you know you have trouble keeping up with this stuff (like I do) at least as long as you are trying to grow in this area.
