Im all for tropes where the 'desire' branches beyond the most base of drives. (Sex and wealth). I feel like there's a really great example from a video game that's escaping me right now. It wasn't Dragon Age, because Origins and 2 definitely leaned on the sex angle. And I don't recall Inquisition's 'choice spirit' to be particularly memorable.
