Can’t resell a physical game with a key code like literally every steam/ea/epic/whatever DD platform that almost all devs pigeonhole you into though. IMO physical transfer rules should apply to digital.

Sophisticated PC gamers: "Graphics aren't that important. The surge of indie games has shown that fun gameplay is really the only important factor. If big companies really cared, they would spend more time making sure their game was enjoyable to play rather than worrying about dumb things like hair physics and background animations." Also sophisticated PC gamers: "OMG the new Pokemon game looks like CRAP! Why would anyone bother to play such an ugly game that looks like it came out 10 years ago?!"

Because Pokemon could do way better, the whole point of the games going off the 3ds was supposed to be that they wouldn't be held back by the hardware. No, graphics are not all that matter. But am I wrong for expecting games made by a "AAA" company with infinitely more budget and manpower to look like a finished game? Compared to other games released on the same hardware like breath of the wild, Pokemon games look like tech demo leaks. Maybe they need to go back to 2d sprites? I don't know, but looking at how they never skip a beat taking down a fan game or rom hack tells me they themselves know their games are ass and they need to get rid of any competition.

There's a difference between not needing good graphics and clearly not giving a shit about their graphics for decades at a time.

I mean, they're games meant for kids, man. Why the fuck are you expecting a challenge? The skill ceiling of pokemon is crazy high and building a game to challenge hardcore players would be ridiculously challenging. That being said, watched a let's play, wouldn't recommend. It looks... fucking rough and the new combat gimmick makes combat feel incredibly flat. It is an interesting idea, cooldown based combat, but letting the player move around makes it feel floaty and non-impactful.

So were the original games that offered a challenge. Gosh. I wonder why the first three gens are still looked upon as the best versions of the game. It's a mystery.
