Wait? But there was a lot of cheese and sauce on on a Chicago deep dish.
My sample size is very small consisting of leaving Chicago Union station and going to Giordano's, a nearby Chicago deep dish pizzeria.
Maybe it's like a sorted lasagna? instead of interleaved you have the bread layer, the cheese layer, and the sauce layer?
It was the one kind of pizza I thought plausibly deserved to be called a pie.
it clearly wouldn't work in New York as you need to be sitting at a table to eat one of these.
