developers usually know what's up. assassin's creed 4, a pirate game that mimicked the assassin's creed series, made the templar's modern day front, abstergo, into a ubisoft parody. in that game abstergo literally makes assassin's creed games with ulterior motives. it was almost like the devs were going "man, fuck this dumbass company".
