Yea, don't worry. Lemmy is just as infected with those who have shallow opinions based on no relevant insight into the topic at hand as reddit has. I mean look at the comments. They likely don't even know that it's two seperate games not just one that's being built. Once SQ42 is out we will see how it good or bad it turns out and csn then judge if the money was worth it.

I backed the original Kickstarter in 2014. SQ42 has been "nearly ready" for years now. I'm not at all surprised SQ42 and Star Citizen are covered in suspicion and doubt, given how much time Roberts is willing to waste making sure people have to eat and drink and reworking ships and game mechanics, while getting sucked out of your ship when you warp and being unable to refuel/rearm remained problems for years. Hell I bet they still are. I dunno I stopped waiting, I don't care anymore.

Lower development costs and faster to develop than GTA 6 so far, with more to show for it. Don't give up hope

That is literally CIG, everyone worked on SQ42. Not star citizen. Only very recently were more than a handful of devs moved to star citizen now SQ42 is feature complete.

That's not true at all. They've always been building them in parallel. Did they shift some of the devs to get the final push to finish SQ42? Recently? Yes. Was it the majority of the devs working on SC? No.
