@thordis I'm on the cusp ("Xennial" is such an ugly word) and, apparently, there's some astrological reason why people from the year of my birth are actually more aligned with Gen Z. I'm also a child of cusp generation people raised by older parents than their cohort, so they didn't get socialized to their expected gen's values. So generational categories don't serve me well but I have a definite allegiance to one of the generations, the one I voted for.

Calling a server forkiverse can maybe be seen as misleading. It's still part of the fediverse.

Xennial here. I seem to have been one of the first millennials to be born, and have more in common with the tail end of Generation X than with Zillennials.

@thordis Fediverse DOES have a network of smaller Gen Z servers
but they tend to be Queer or Furry focused. and occasionally Game Development
they are also quite insular for valid reasons, and I'm certainly not going to list a bunch so everyone can go bother their users
but they are with us. you just need to move in the correct circles and they will pop up to make you feel ancient

I believe such divisions of people merely by decade was a tool for western Advertising agencies. It stereotypes people, devalues them and ignores the many differences between people even in the same culture and "class". It's dishonest and misleading.
