When did you stop posting on X?
Person A: When its owner made nazi salutes.
Person B: When it became a production and distribution channel for images of child sexual abuse.
Government: We're still posting there.
@andrewstroehlein when the idiot took over the platform

I went looking for alternatives when the nazi bought Twitter. Then I left but hanged around a little to post about Mastodon. My profile there still points to Mastodon.
But it was a fun time when they changed so anyone could buy a blue check.

@MatthewNewell @andrewstroehlein same here. As soon as he bought it I jumped ship. Never looked back.

@andrewstroehlein
Sad how true this is for basically every country in the world -
I posted a lot on Twitter - but never on X. His purchase of the platform was enough for me to leave along with a sizeable number of other mastodon posters

I don't know why that was my line but I deleted my account there when the view counts went in soon after musk took over.

@andrewstroehlein Me: When they blocked posting links to other platforms (since reversed, but that was the final nail in the coffin). The last time I returned it was to fix my profile showing I had left and where to find me not on X.

@andrewstroehlein I closed my account WAY back, the moment I heard Elon Musk express his interest in buying Twitter. I never regretted that decision.

@andrewstroehlein may I also alert you to this longer post I just put up through my fedi.at account.
It deals with major news outlets and political parties continuing to offer the option to people to follow them on "X":
Pino Carafa (@rozeboosje@fedi.at)
I just sent this to RTÉ, the Irish Times, the Irish Independent, Fine Gael, Fianna Fáil, Sinn Féin and Labour May I respectfully suggest that other people do something similar to your own news organisations and political parties? Use your own words, if you can. This is what I sent: Subject: "Your continued presence on X" Text: Dear Sir or Madam, As you will doubtlessly be aware, "X" is once again in the news for all the wrong reasons, but the latest scandal about this platform and its continued use of its AI bot "Grok", to allow people to digitally undress and create pornographic content of people, including children, without their consent must certainly be the straw that breaks the camel's back? When confronted about the problem the platform did nothing to address the problem. In fact they made it worse by making this despicable ability effectively "pay per view". This is disgusting. I therefore must alert you to the fact that you are still offering the option to people to follow your account on that platform. By doing so you are feeding into its business model, and that does nothing to add real pressure on them to stop offering users the option to do these things. It would be beyond cowardly to hide behind legislation on this matter, waiting for the government or the EU to legislate against it or to ban the platform outright. The real pressure will come from major content providers such as yourself pulling out. And in light of these recent developments there can be no moral justification for you remaining a presence there. While I am on the subject, I would like to ask you to look beyond the main players in social media. Why not add a presence on a Mastodon instance, for example? Mastodon would be an ethical alternative to X, and even if you cannot bring yourself to close your account on X, with you presenting options to follow you on Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn and YouTube, surely it would not be a big deal to add one more "icon" to that list? Kind regards ...

@andrewstroehlein for me, back in June 2023, after the Twitter logo was briefly replaced by the doge icon. I had many friends leave before that, when that fascist bought it. I'd been on there 13 years. I wrote a eulogy for it here: https://spacetimetech.wordpress.com/2023/06/12/the-life-and-death-of-twitter

@andrewstroehlein Left Twitter when he purchased it. Lost 9k followers but never looked back. Incredible seeing what it's become.

@andrewstroehlein I stopped long before it was named X, back in January 2021, when I canceled my Twitter account because the atmosphere there was already going bad and fascist.
