A non-trivial number of criticisms you get boil down to "why didn't you study [other thing]" which is useful mostly for learning about how to better explain why the thing you did mattered to and was possible for YOU, but I've given up on the "why it should matter to others" part and it's all better for it

I think Siskel & Ebert once talked about how you shouldn’t critique the movie you wish they had made, only the movie they did make.
