It seems that the new Pope was spotted in crowd footage from a 2005 Chicago White Sox World Series game. Senator Obama was also in attendance.
So future President and future Pope walked into a White Sox game. The proper punchline is probably, “the King was at Wrigley.” (White Sox are southside Chicago, more ethnically diverse fan base, poorer, than northside Cubs at Wrigley Field. Sorry.)
