Trapped in a valley over winter, frantically building defences against unexpected complication, but always coming back to the wall of ice creeping ever closer.

A wall of ice thousands of years old, half a mile thick, and filled with hate will pursue you relentlessly, but very slowly to the ends of the earth.

Then a climatic scene where at the last moment they get a ship ready and are going to escape... only to hear the groan and crash of the glacier cleaving off an iceberg to continue the chase.
