The modern ant loves her sensible trainers, but they are very squeaky.

Honestly if I had to put on that many shoes I might not leave the house most days. Two is more than enough.

It would be very hard to make Velcro at that scale... but not impossible I think.
Ants could use human Velcro to make necklace clasps.

@futurebird There is a local mystery over the origin of some 200 Victorian boots that have been found washed up on a Welsh beach not far from me over the past week (adding to a similar number found over the course of recent years).
The current leading theory is that they have been released from one of the many shipwrecks that lie on and around the notorious Tusker Rock a few miles from the beach in question (a fascinating spot to kayak to on calmer days).
I don't think ant involvement is currently being considered, but they do note that many of the boots are rather small
Mystery as hundreds of Victorian shoes wash up on Ogmore beach
More than 400 leather hobnailed boots, thought to date back to the 19th Century, have been found.

@futurebird Victorian ants had it easy. Think of the poor Victorian millipedes! It might take them a week to get ready to go for a walk.

LOL. For some reason the notion of arthropods having a lot of shoes will never stop amusing me.
