Writing is very hard but the only solution seems to be to write even more.

I'm having one of those days where it seems very easy to tell what is working and what isn't. A kind of clarity about the stories I'm working on that's a little disappointing because the flaws are suddenly very obvious. Everything feels very amateur and very far from where it would need to be to make it compelling and clear to the readers.
So, I'm making a lot of revisions. Holding on to the bits that survive with hope.

I cut out a bunch of repetitive sentences, and made a chapter that I thought was done a lot more clear. That feels good. But there are so many chapters that need this attention.
The suffering... woe is me. etc. etc.

@futurebird I fully empathize. That built-in harsh critic can really make it difficult.

The good side of it is when I'm feeling like this part of me is like "Why doesn't everyone simply revise their stories until they are perfect? This obvious won't work, that will etc. etc." But this kind of perspective isn't always *there* and that's kind of disturbing in a way.
