How is the school year over already?

How is the school year over already? How is it time for me to write comments so soon. Time keeps going and it's NOT FAIR.
Worse. I have cleared most of my summer calendar to write my book and I have NO EXCUSES. This is horrible.
It's also awesome but I thought *something* would come up.
Nope.
The time is NOW. I can write at 9am when my brain is the most fresh and zesty. Wow.

I think my very whiny students are making me slowly become more whiny.
They are sweet kids, but boy oh boy do they whine.

A significant opportunity! Wish you much success!
Do we hold back, then, our personal emergency needs for ant behavioral explanations so that you can work?
For example, these quivering specimens taking apart a food source. What's going on?

For example, these quivering specimens taking apart a food source. What's going on?
They are digging with their front legs in the manner of a dog, flinging sand under the gaster. I suspect they have determined that they cant move the large treat back to the nest, or having it at the nest might attract too much attention, so they are trying to bury it in the sand so they can enjoy it over a few days.
It's interesting to me that they will dig by moving clumps of soil with their mandibles if the soil in moist, but use this method in dry sand.
