Apathy and ego tells them whatever they need to not have to do or change a thing & carry on as usual. They refuse to live in reality or face the truth. Ignorance is bliss to them. I think these apathetic folks are the majority & it’s time they were antagonized more. -

That's something you only have to do in repressive police states, no?
In the UK there is no requirement to even *have* any "papers" that you could "show" (not everybody has a passport or driving licence).

To be honest I don't think they care about the papers much. ICE throws a fit if you don't have papers to show, but they also will not look at any papers someone might have.
We have multiple stories of them ignoring the paperwork when people try to show it to them.
We can't rule out the possibility that this is because they simply cannot read.

I didn't think anyone would find that last paragraph a reasonable suggestion. I am so disgusted with the idea of behaving that way that I didn't think I'd need to say that under no circumstances should you feel compelled to put your sign away, put your head down, say "yes officer" and "no officer" and meekly show your papers hoping that this could spare you a beating.
And really why bother? It might not even work.

I think the "ICE officers" in their home-made Halloween costume uniforms from Temu, probably do not have even the training of police academy recruit shadowing a real officer to learn the beat.
They seem to have been told not to even try to read any papers as they have not hired people who can learn those skills.

It's not part of the plan for there to be anything you can do so they leave you alone. Nobody who joined ICE signed up for that. -
They don't exist. There are just more of them waiting for their chance to "shoot a liberal" because their bosses said they could. Because they think there will be no consequences.
The problem is at some point one gets so angry that you don't have room to feel fear anymore. This is supposed to scare everyone into going home. But I do not think it will work at all.

We are but animals, ones that can plan and feel emotions and can be deeply moved by advanced thought & these emotions, but animals nevertheless.

In that respect, #ICE looks more like a part of a Stalinist terror machine: quotas matter. The terror is in the numbers, and in you as a person simply evaporizing.
Nazis prided themselves of murdering people for precisely the "sufficient reasons" they had manufactured before, and stating the "appropriate" reason to murder you was important. They hadn't learned yet that truly arbitrary terror is even more powerful.

@futurebird They're brutalizing brown targets everywhere, but they've reserved the worst of the violence against white observers for Minneapolis, because it's the city that they and their base hate the most by name, and also where people look the most like "activists", so violence there suits their content creation mill the best

@feznander @futurebird Yes. This wasn’t a protest. This was a bunch of people who showed up to be witnesses at an ICE (or CBP) kidnapping attempt. They do it in hopes that their presence will be a deterrent, but if it isn’t, they record what happens so there will be evidence. Sometimes the evidence helps family members know what happened to their loved ones, but in situations like this one, it also counters the lies coming from 47’s regime.
