The American right seems unfamiliar with or disinterested in the philosophical underpinnings of Red Toryism in the UK or Progressive Conservatism in Canada, i.e. the idea that you have to give the poor something or they will rise up against you. I want to think that passing the bbb will send them into the political wilderness for a generation, just like the Hoover presidency, but it could very easily break so much worse for everyone. #uspol
