The best Canada Days were the ones about 25 years ago, when my brother and I would pour vodka in Big Gulp cups and go stroll along the boardwalk in Sarnia's Centennial Park. You didn't have to plan to meet anybody; we all ended up there eventually before the fireworks started. Looking south down the river, we saw endless refineries that gave our dads dirty, dangerous, and good paying union jobs. Looking north, mighty Lake Huron met the river, a very spiritual place for the Chippewa. #CanadaDay
