Well before I saw this ... graph? Ad? Assault on reason? I *thought* I was pretty smart, but now my brain is running out of my ears.

I don't know what's worse... the pointless levels, the not-a-pie-chart format, that percents don't add to 100?

      Why is it a circle?

It's like someone explained the concept of "multiple intelligences" to someone incapable of understanding that concept.

Anyway, I'm told this kind of 'content' is "the future"

I bet the numbers are made up. From nowhere.

@futurebird they're trying to get you wound up about it on purpose, so that you engage with the ad and do whatever thing makes them money

As a B.A., English I appreciate that they assigned 86% to the least likely zone and called it WORD SMART

I don't see ads very often. So when I do I'm kind of astonished.

@futurebird I will throw out the other 49 things I have to say, and simply ask:

Why is the only woman of the four "self-smart," and why is it someone whose life would justify a long and deep conversation about what—exactly—it means to be self-smart?

I get the feeling these four people were selected as "an uninformed person's idea of notability." By someone with no interest in anything except generating clicks. And everything else is arbitrary.

I know the notion of boiling a frog is a myth.

                    But.

This is boiled frogs. If people could only see how bad it's gotten they would recoil in horror.

for a long time I was one of those pedants who told people "real frogs jump out, unless their brains have been physically removed." and, you know, I hoped most real people would "jump out" as well. I knew, already, some did not. But ...

                        *sigh*

these days I usually don't bother to corrrect people.

@futurebird pictures think in me, terrible graph!

(that graph is a remarkable combination of the worst features of pie charts and spiral staircases.)
