    Does anyone manufacture a countertop dishwasher that isn't disposable?

    I've had the second one break on me in 8 years (they seem to last 4 years which is pathetic) Granted these appliances cost about $250 this makes the notion of repairing it hard to justify.

    Pumps wear out and if you make the entire appliance out of plastic you can't open it without breaking it to replace the pump.

    I will attempt a repair but I'm not optimistic. I think I may just buy and new one and hate it.

      I'm looking for the screws to take it apart and so much of it is pressure fit, and glued. I don't want to put a large plastic object in the trash, but there is a limit to my time and willingness to suffer.

      The countertop dishwasher cured my depression. It's the tiny thing that makes keeping the whole apartment clean possible. I suppose it's not THAT time consuming to hand-wash and if I had more time I might.

      😞

      I would pay a lot for one that I could fix.

        @futurebird

        Can you slice it with a thin saw blade or a laser and glue or clamp it back together?

          @zl2tod

          I mean... maybe, but at some point I think I should just build my own automatic washer from scratch if I have to basically make the case... and there are good reasons for the glue and pressure fitting, many parts of a dishwasher need to be water tight to work properly.

          If it's a sunny day I will drag it out on the roof and put it on an old towel and give it the old college try.
