    The stove, dishwasher and toaster oven and kettle all want to be clocks too. It's creepy. Also my poor husband feels compelled to keep all such devices correctly set but *I* have to show him how to do it.

      @futurebird a few jobs back, the office lunchroom had two (apparently) identical microwaves side-by-side that would simply not keep the same time; every so often I'd reset their clocks so that they showed the same time, and a few weeks later they'd be back apart by 2+ minutes.

      The "I have two competing sources of truth for the time simultaneously in my field of view" disturbed me in ways I can't quite articulate.

        @bruceiv @futurebird I once played D&D with a group that included one of the people who worked on the guts of GPS satellites - which are, at bottom, ridiculously accurate clocks.

        No timepiece in her home could be relied upon, and they were all different. I don't know how she stood it.

          @jmax @bruceiv

          She had contact with a deeper and more pure kind of clock and so those other ones probably didn't really register.

            @futurebird *Kennel??* Why would you want a clock display on a kennel, or is there more this thing does than just hold the dog?? CC @TheZooLady
