Gov. Pritzker of Illinois has been doing a good job talking to residents of Chicago about the coming invasion. He hasn't spent time being defensive acting like this makes any sense or is about "crime" or trying to wrestle with the right wing framing of the event.

This just makes it seem totally illegitimate and unwanted by the people which it is.

I still want to know what happens if/when ICE defies the rule about not running around unidentified.

Newsom tried to do something similar but he seemed less grounded and less convincing and I can't put my finger on why.

I guess Newsom seemed more interested in "fighting Trump" then how scary it is for the people of LA to have troops goose steeping all over the place snatching people.

Your people are SCARED. Do something about it.

When they try to pull this in NYC I fully expect Gov. hochul to yell at the city and say "you better be nice to the army you raggamuffins" or something like that. Then she will give a two hour lecture on how the NYPD can do no wrong and how much she loves putting armed guards in the subway.

(I really don't know what she will do, since she *already did this*)
