(We do have in-house anti-amnestic agents that can dull the effects, but only if administered quickly.) This is why avoiding being questioned is your first and best line of defense.

If you *are* questioned, with practice you can give the impression of having already received amnestics by mimicking mild symptoms of amnestic poisoning. Due to risk of coma, Foundation agents are trained to look for the following symptoms to avoid "double dosing"
* repeating questions
* poor short term memory
* pausing mid-word or sentence then resuming as if nothing happened.
* cold sweat, pallor
* lightheadednessThis has been successful for several of us on previous occasions. #fiction

It is best to practice your "haze" with one of the other members so you will be ready to act as if already dosed when under the stress of questioning.
Foundation operations are often chaotic and while they try to keep records of all those they drug it is clear that they often find records incomplete. Hence the useful (to us) check for accidental "double dosing."

@futurebird I have this vague itch for a story where a council of important leaders and citizens are called in periodically to review what is still kept as state secrets and what secret programs are in operation, etc.
They are all given a drug that prevents any long term memories of their days in this review process, and none can remember the secrets or their decisions afterwards.
The world 's weird, no one understands why it is the way it is, none can remember deciding to keep it that way.
