    I’ve been organizing music today, into static playlists for use with an MP3 player.

    It’s astounding how good this task feels, to break away from streaming services and go back to my own collection of music, algorithm-free and played on a device that isn’t collecting my data in order to exploit me.

    I’m not at all being facetious when I say that it feels healing. I love analog but I don’t need analog everything. I want the tech I do use to feel like a tool, not a compromise with the Death Star.

      @hollie

      I love putting audiobooks on devices like this. It's fun to walk around and listen to a book and not need anything else.

        Oh, and you know that audiobook you have been TRYING to get that one friend to listen to, but they don't have the right app, and it's annoying, and your app won't share with theirs etc.

        Put it on a device and hit them with it like a mixtape.

        A little extreme, but effective.
