Amazon might not notice that you stopped shopping with them* but if you take that same modest bit of disposable income and spend it on art bought directly from artists, the small electronics projects of your friends, helping people in dire financial situations and the the local theater all of those people WILL notice. It will have a massive impact.
*But, also Amazon does notice. Especially as more and more people do this.

Maybe you think "I can't cut out X just yet" and there are practical reasons that make it hard. That's fine, but keep thinking about it.
You can find a way to wiggle free. It's OK if it takes some time and planning.

The next big one I want gone from my life is YouTube. This one is hard, though. I think the first step would be to at least use the alternatives for those creators I like who bother to offer one.
I don't know how I'll wriggle free from YouTube just yet, but I'm not giving up on it because it's "hard" --

Right now "no YouTube" would mean just not seeing a lot of videos that I want to see.
But, not as many as I think.

@futurebird@sauropods.win yee i found this with lots of things. stuff like diet or lifestyle changes as well. it takes time, &sometimes its too hard to be worth the effort. like i tried really hard to cut out processed foods &sugar and stuff but i eat them again now. im not completely dependent like i was at least. amazon i dont use but i dont think the alternatives i use are particularly good like the kind you are suggesting. getting off social media like insta/fb ive done but sometimes it makes life a lot harder tbh. like some groups on facebook were actually really useful sadly
like the ones where u can post if u have hard rubbish and someone will want it, or the community focused ones where u can ask questions and get answers from locals.
i think next i wana try give less money to doordash by mealprepping a lot more
plus if i get really good at it i can give some of the food to my friends or ppl who need it :))
its hard tho cause sometimes i wont eat if someone doesn't bring me food cause i cant make myself even microwave something—gosh i love to provide that for others as well tho

@futurebird As a Pokémon fan I feel this very much. In most cases I'd rather commission fan arts (and now even a couple pieces of home made merchandaise) than gorge on cards or get most of the unofficial merch (which in 99% of cases is pretty boring).

@futurebird We diverted $18,000+ a year for 4 years from Amazon to a small rural bookstore via bookshop.org. We're lucky the school system didn't fight us (lots of entrenched you know), but our well-funded high school library did a good thing.
