These red and black ants are about a quarter inch long. The video is very short because some of their sisters thought I was WAY too close to their home

@futurebird No, it's amongst blueberry bushes and grasses. There's a circle about 2 feet across of excavated clay soil dotted with their tunnel entrances. I've never seen sticks or pine needles anywhere near it.

@futurebird Here's a picture of where it is - lots of forest all around, so I guess that makes them forest ants one way or another haha!

They still could be one of the forest ants, just probably not one of the ones who builds two meter high mounds.
