I have never eaten an ant. I could not.
Poor girls.
Though... they do eat each other which kind of takes away from it. But the day of "unite all colonies" is coming.

How does he know they have "a lemony flavor"?
This is a scandal that will rock the world of ants.
(My husband ate an ant by mistake once. He was using the aspirator all wrong. I forgave him... eventually. #PicaTheCat? Eats ants on purpose! So, what was THIS?)
Formic acid. Sour with an unpleasant buggy aftertaste. At least in the Northern hemisphere. Anyway, to my mind the animal is the nest. Individual ants are more analagous to cells.

IDK if the ants would totally agree. But they are also very willing to "go out in a blaze of glory" over just about every little thing.

@futurebird I've seen those green ants in Australia. They are feisty little things! I hear they deliver a pretty nasty bite.
I cannot confirm (nor deny) the lemony flavor.
