Looks like a fermented tea, so don't age it too long!

@futurebird haha, yeah, I'll try to encourage Pat not to wait on it too long. There is a date on the back though that says 2018. It might already be 7 years old. Or is that a best by date? I don't know.

Shu, or cooked puerh keeps so well that it has been used as money. I don’t know whether sheng, or raw puerh keeps as well or not. In any event, there’s no particular reason to age it unless you want to save it for a rainy day. -

In any event, there’s no particular reason to age it unless you want to save it for a rainy day.Sheng gets a bit nicer with age if it was strong and like a green tea when young.
Shu can become too mild for my taste when aged too much, but a few years can make it a bit less funky IMO.
I mostly drink sheng though. Ideally very aged.
