Is it going to be online only like the other one? 1&2 got offline mode for Steam Deck, but not for regular PCs, which is really weird. Are they going to pull the same nonsense on this one too? I haven't picked up 1&2 specifically because of that restriction, though I'd really like to play it.

I assume there are licencing issues, as they might need to negotiate the all the rights for the songs again. on the other hand, would it be possible to "cheat the system" and allow users to also get the original game, unremastered and if the original, with the original music is installed, the remastered version could be made to read the music from the original files. maybe even just call it an extra 1$ dlc for the original unremastered.

I bought 1&2 and I just wanted to do free skate with my friends but there's no way to do that, the game has very limited modes where you have to queue with randos all the time and it sucks the game had potential but squandered all of itI just want to play SP, and the game requires being online always, and I think an Activision account. So I didn't buy it. I hear they have a "Steam Deck" mode that allows offline play, but why isn't that just standard? Why do you have to use a Steam Deck or _pretend_ you're a Steam Deck for it to work? I loved the originals, but this is just a bit too much friction for me.

You can use the steam deck launch option on any PC, but yeah it's really fucking dumb. Reminder to back www.stopkillinggames.com to end these bullshit practicesUnfortunately, I'm ineligible to sign. But yeah, it's incredibly dumb that you have to claim you're a Steam Deck to be able to play if your internet drops or whatever.
