I've been reading about the photographer, who is a fairly well-known painter, an early but important lover of Kandinsky's, and a founding member of The Blue Rider, too. A friend sent me a portrait today which she painted of a woman with a pipe. Independent wealth freed her at a young age. It makes you wonder what such wealth could do for any/all artists.
