    Why are peanuts not used in american cooking more? They are often treated as snack and desert only ... but they are so nice in stir-fry.

      Probably awareness of how many people have issues with peanuts. Easier just to avoid it all.

            I suspect they have lower production costs than peanuts. Cheap is king.
