So, I was watching this video by a historian I like on YouTube, and the video was about how high the infant mortality rate was in Medieval times, and I commented that a lot of women died young in childbirth as well. Seems pretty innocuous, and demonstrably true, right?

Apparently, I angered the men of the internet who raged that MEN ALSO DIED!

I had no idea so many men died in childbirth!

Another thing I learned from the men of the internet is that women just laid around the house and sent men out to gather food.

Somebody should have told the women this was an option

Another was not that many women died in childbirth.

I guess 1 in 100, compared to 1 in 10,000, isn't much of a statistical anomaly to them.

@kimlockhartga @RickiTarr An extended relative works at a digital forensic company where they are using LLMs to scan message bds and chats looking for child predators. Apparently their models are amazingly good. (the investigation, indictment still done by humans w/ subpoenas ofc, !minority.report yet)

If I had $fuck.u$, I'd hire them to write anti-racist/bigot/misogyny/phobic version that moderators could use. One click on a suspect account and it scrubs their post history for banvidence.

its worse than that - there aren't even as many actual incels as folk think, a lot of the comments are coming from angry men who have had relationships and may even be parents they may or may not be currently divorced/single - but couples (quite understandbly) tend not to stand over one another when they are using the computer/mobile device, so its *very* easy for these men to make these misogynistic comments whilst still coming across as "perfect dad/husband/partner" at least until they fuck up their current relationship - but they often quickly move onto the next, at least unless they've actually done something egregious enough to land them in prison for a few years..
