    The Interior Design Saga Continues!

Plates and flatware were easy. People are always getting rid of this stuff so I accumulated a collection of random plates and flatware and called it a day.

But then after a camping trip I wondered why I had to put my titanium plate away with the camping gear. Why couldn't I use it all of the time? So, that's what we did. Over the next decade I replaced all of the plates, bowls and flatware with ultralight camping versions made of titanium.

Titanium plates & bowls are very easy to clean, that's why they are used by people who are camping. They are lightweight and won't shatter if you drop them. They stack well and take up very little space.

Why not have that all the time?

I think I must have the soul of a dad from the 2010s but I really like the color and sheen that well used titanium will acquire. One of the joys of life.

Also if you have a small dishwasher you can fit more of them in there.

Not for those who have microwave.

OK I forgot that people have those. Yes. If you have a microwave this is a non-starter.

But ... also consider that the microwave is easy to eliminate from your life, looks ugly, makes a depressing sound, and is hard to clean.

A nice toaster oven can do most things that a microwave can.
