i love the new headcanon duke that the internet has developed after the games. he's still a rabid womanizer, but he's wizened with age and become a _supportive_ womanizer. "nobody messes with our chicks and lives" applies to _all_ women. trans women are women because hey, more chicks is always good.That could work. They could also pull some Serious Sam updates. There's some subtly in SS4's writing that's quite nice. Like having a completely normal conversation with a lesbian couple or prefering a power up item to a kiss, slightly taken the womaan aback. Apparently the Duke Nukem Forever DLC that no one played had a femme fatale barking orders at him that kept Duke true, but shifted the power dynamic around.

Y'know what? Fuck yes. I would devour that in a fucking *night*. That is the kind of glorious trash I go possom over. The Duke and every Nazis nightmare taking on fascist aliens, dropping one-liners and big guns. Fuck even trying to have a plot. That would work so amazingly well as a monster of the week. Have B.J call out Duke on his shit as someone who can actually go toe to toe with that overinflated ego.

As someone who has a giant soft spot in her heart for Duke, what story is there to tell? Duke Nukem is a simple man. He's here to fuck up alien bastards(for taking the babes, crashing his ride, generally existing), save attractive women, and *maybe* remember to pick up that pack of gum on his way home. He's not really even a "character", he's a walking embodiment of 80s and 90s machismo with big guns and less plot that the typical comic book of the time. He's a machine built for one-liners. He's a never-ending thoughtless action flick you love *because* it takes so little actual thought to enjoy.My ideal Duke nukem plot would basically just be some hypermasculine caricature that starts a normal day and is faced with increasingly insane excuses for ultraviolence at which he performs exceedingly well. He's not scared, He's not bored, He's not brooding, He's having a fucking day, and he's all out of bubble gum. Despite the ever-increasing Gore and violence he never has to say or do anything problematic, just fucking brutally uncompromisingly violence against people that super duper obviously need it. Comical masculinity instead of toxic masculinity. Nothing even needs to change about his character.
