This likely isn’t who you wish we were, or probably even who you thought we were, but clearly, this is who we really are. I think that’s been the most distressing thing. Realizing the extent of the rot in America. Really causes the ground to shift out from under you. It’s why it’s so weird to hear anyone say they’re “proud of this country.”
