    Advice for Artists:

Are you working on a painting of nature or where nature plays a key role? Consider adding ants. Ants are a part of every natural environment that isn't a glacier. If you already have a few ants, why not add more? How many species do you have?

Even if it isn't a painting of nature ants are also found in most "unnatural" environments and can bring a touch of nature to your scene in a living room, prison, or church.

Ants add a sense of scale and it's hard to have too many.

@futurebird hard to tell if you love ants or are secretly on the payroll of the Ant Lobby.

    Maybe both ?

@futurebird you will certainly not regret adding 30 to 40 ants to your painting

@futurebird "Ants are a part of every natural environment that isn't a glacier" within the land-based fraction of the biosphere. A good start. Let's then widen the gaze to the wonders in the 99% beyond!

@futurebird instructions unclear, let the ants walk across the canvas through the wet paint? Ok!

@futurebird When I was working on this piece, my love said "it needs ants". So I added ants. And he was right. This particular abstract drawing was vastly improved with ants.
