    What an amazing day! Yes, I even talked my other half to dress up so we could march and dance, as a pair of Axolotls. I wasn't quite expecting all of the attention. Never had so many folks ask for photos in my life. Felt like every step in that sweltering suit was sparking joy.

    Happy kids waving and knowing what an axolotl is!

      I had to explain to my fifth graders that they were real. They thought they only existed in Minecraft.

      They were so excited to find out that they were real... like finding out that fairies are real.

          Oh that's not my costume, although I wish it were.

          I just thought that Kristin would be amused to know why so many kids are aware of the axolotl... even if they might not know if they are real creatures or not.
