    You are correct. It makes no sense. Stop looking for what just isn't there.

    "Surly they would never-"

    "No. They would. And they have before."

    Don't waste time in this particular way.

      **You** probably pay more attention to the history, regional tensions and other factors in these choices than the people making these decisions, and the ones sitting by and letting it happen.

        @futurebird tbh, it makes sense?
        Iran literally lied about their Uranium amassing facilities and Israel and the US are attacking these facilities to destroy any made progress before it can become anything worse.

          @Em

          Doesn't Iran mostly want nuclear weapons since so many other nations have them?

          So, maybe they'd be less likely to be bombed like this?

            @futurebird @Em definitely. No one ia going to nuke anyone, this is too dangerous and everyone knows it, but the dissuasion effect is useful. Israel is just jealous not to have this capacity.

              @f4grx @Em

              I think if we can infer that Iran isn't just "learning about atomic power" we can also infer that Israel already has nuclear weapons.

                @Em

                Not a single competent entity in the world believes Iran is building nuclear weapons. This lie is the same US lie of 2003 with Irak: lies to make people believe the US and Israel are somehow in the right by bombing Iran out of nowhere

                Every single State lies. Trump lied by saying he wouldn't go to war. Netanyahou lies everyday by saying the genocide is a war against Hamas. If lying was reason enough for foreign countries to intervene the world would be in a very different place.

                Israel has had the nuclear weapon for decades, without signing the non-proliferation treaty, continously attacks its neighbors. If anything, the current State of Israel is the one that propels unstability in the region

                  @futurebird @Em Once North Korea attained nukes, they started being taken more seriously. It's hard to blame Iran for wanting some insurance, If they already had them, this wouldn't have happened.

                        @Em @Ambulocetus

                        IDK how you got this idea. This is reminding me of the conversations I had after 9/11 where someone would make a simple observation or ask a question and the reaction was "WHY DO YOU HATE AMERICA" that's how this comes off. Can you see how it's a non sequitur?

                        To discuss "why" is conflated with saying it good or how things ought to be.

                        Please don't do this.

                          @Em @rakoo

                          Cutting off food, cutting off aid, refusing to let anyone help because they don't want a whole ethnic group of people to live in that area anymore is genocide.

                          I don't know what else you would call it.
