    @futurebird Ant crime - cat crimes don't exist because cats can do no wrong

      @futurebird@sauropods.win

      I suppose it's because they're organised, but i've not known ant activities to affect me adversely. So I can't comment on proclivities for crime.

      Cats however, even in a gang, are a bloody menace.

        @futurebird Ants do their crime quietly and subtly…

            @futurebird More frequently? Cat crime. I get woken by it many a night, though I typically fall asleep again soon after. With more intense alarm? Ant crime. They may not wake me often, just once every few years; but if I get woken up by ants, I will not fall back asleep, I am very awake now.

              @futurebird Cat crime. The ants are bad, but they're subtle enough to let me get some sleep

                @futurebird Ant crime all the way. Cat crime is nothing compared to finding a lot of ants where they shouldn’t be

                  @futurebird The cats are fragmented and petty. They are of no concern. Cats are easily entertained and manipulated. They couldn't organize against us if we forced them to.

                  On the other hand, there is a world war of ants going on beneath our noses. At this very moment they are massacring each other in untold numbers. The age of global ant domination is at hand, and I am afraid.

                    @futurebird i will give it some thought... cats are intentionally bastards, ants are just doing ant things.

                      to be fair its way too cold for ants here in England (I think they hibernate and don't bother people), and the only cats who visit my house are from the neighbours and they behave well.

                      One tortie who visits me was intently staring at the wall during summer, I was wondering "why is she looking at that wall?" and the next day there were loads of flying ants, so she spotted them before I did (she even once climbed into the interior of my car and helped me evict a flying bug, which was a good thing as otherwise the bug would fly about inside and cause the security alarm to blare in the middle of the night)

                      @vfrmedia @funkula @futurebird

                      a couple of days of milder [10 c] weather here and I kept finding dopey, large winged ants wandering around. including on the bed, middle of winter.

                      I don't believe I've actually manged this, but I think I'm getting the cat /trained/ to be patient! If you're planning any courses on domestic ant training, FB, do let us know.

                        @wavesculptor @vfrmedia @funkula

                        Put a few in individual test tubes and you can give starter ant colonies as Spring (Easter? anything like that) gifts for all your friends!

                        I love to put an ant colony in an Easter basket for the right sorts of kids at church. (with instructions on care)

                        Their parents have mixed feelings but it's educational.

                            @futurebird neither. I’ll knock out between 7-9 PM. The good nights I sleep until 4 AM and wake well rested not pondering any crime. The bad nights I get a nap, up for many hours, and then get another nap.
