"Trilobite: eyewitness to evolution" like "Annals of the Former World" but less daunting and metaphysical. "Annals of the Former World" is a book you get lost in, the deep past swallows you. The best way to read it is on a long train ride going out West. "Trilobite" is a book you can read in bursts on the bus, or in the tub... it's about science but feels like a magical adventure where secret worlds lurk behind bookshelves. Like one and you will like the other for different reasons.
