    This is why I always kinda bounce off of their games story modes. Sometimes it really feels like you're the main actor and the entire scene goes to shit if you don't stand on the mark etc

    That's a great way to explain it. Completely takes you out of the immersion every time "Mission Failed" pops up as the director yells "cut!" "Retry and this time stay on the path!"

        Rockstar is the greatest AAA dev there is. Thereโ€™s no games as detailed as Rockstar games.

        Rockstar lost of the most creative talent that made it what it is between RDR2 and VI. We'll see if this next generation can live up to the pedigree. This will be their first release without Dan Houser.

          GTA 5 is shit compared to their earlier versions. GTA 3 was peak.

            San Andreas was peak. 5 was better than 4, IMO. Worse than Vice City and I think you have rose colored memories thinking 3 is better than 5. 3 was janky and fairly linear.

              It's literally always had the same mission structure though, so I am not sure how the mission structure of the newer ones affect it as being the gold standard.

              This is objectively untrue (I see that you didn't watch the Nakey Jakey video I posted earlier in the thread). There was a mission in GTA 3 where you were supposed to assassinate someone. The game wanted you to wait for them to get into their car, follow them for a bit, and then take them out in a secluded spot, but what smart players did was simply steal the target's car, rig it with a bomb, and then return the car before the target even noticed it was missing, killing them instantly when they started their vehicle. Try to do something similar in GTA V, and you'll fail the mission for "leaving the mission area". Older GTAs didn't give a fuck how you accomplished something, so long as it gets done. I miss having that freedom.
