"We need more compute"
sounds like something that ants who are up to no good would say.
(And they do say it in my story! But they are confused why so much of their compute is taken up by a mysterious process that they don't understand. Most of them want to just delete it.)

@futurebird Grammar aside it feels like a shift to just "compute" for its own sake rather than actually doing anything useful with the computing power!
