Anyone else kind of hate days off if only because it ruins the schedule?
I want days off. I need days off. But I also get so stressed out when school goes on break.
I tried to explain this to another teacher and I think they reported me to HR for being unwell.

You see? Five on Five off? Great!
Or even five on three off?
But people have to do holidays and all these things and so it can't be consistent and it's stressful.

I do think a 5-5 might require rethinking some educational things. 5 days is the exact amount of time that causes students to return ... a little behind. You lose about a half-day of instruction where with 4 or fewer there isn't that loss.
Everyone is going "what were we doing again??"
So, maybe it's not practical. That doesn't mean I need to pretend to be happy.

@futurebird I love and need to go on vacation but somewhere in the back of my mind, I know that all of those things I have to do are not going away, and it can be a source of angst.

@mattmcirvin @futurebird This is one time I envy firemen. When they come back from vacation, they don’t have a bunch of fires waiting in their in-boxes.

OK this is an advantage of school I suppose. Everyone stops and starts together.
