They want you thinking that you got a deal so you'll stay within their ecosystem, and the longer you stay the less likely you are to leave. The only exit is to cancel, sooner than later.

Another thing I never see mentioned is that the price increase is not nearly as bad for those on Premium instead of Ultimate, I.E. everyone who only uses it on PC and doesn't have an XBox. But I guess that's hard to explain to people who are in full rage mode.
