If you're wondering on xAI's stance on this, aside from Elon posting a crying with laughing emoji, Grok's creators have raised a further $20bn from Cisco and such yesterday.

@GossiTheDog@cyberplace.social It's fascinating that payment processors and app stores happily bullied Tumblr over _female presenting nipples_ and have kicked adult game creators off of Steam, but have been completely silent on CSAM and misogyny generated on X

@GossiTheDog I would have thought JK Rowling and Grahan Linehan would be furious?

@GossiTheDog I assume that by "interesting" you mean totally predictable. We are HERE (with ICE goons murdering people in the streets) BECAUSE too many people have kept listening to and not challenging RW folks enough.

The truth is they are self serving and clueless about what good policy is, or how healthy humans behave. Heeding anything a RW pawn or pundit says (like ever) is as stupid as listening to someone tell you 123 is a good password on stuff where you really do need security.

If you're wondering what consequences X has faced: none. At all. A few months ago when Grok called itself MechaHitler, the service was shut entirely for days, the same day. When this women issue happened, Elon laughed.

Grok is still outputting non-consensual deepfake pornography and sexual abuse material at a rate of 1 post per second. Example search:

          Direct link:
          https://x.com/search?q=from%3A%40grok%20filter%3Amedia&src=typed_query&f=live

I hope Cisco enjoy directly funding sexual abuse material.

@GossiTheDog I've said it before, and keeps getting truer.

The experts in scavenging data will collect your kids' photos, repackage and obfuscate them, to then sell them to selected moneyed clients who crave their value.

@GossiTheDog theoritically, if i still was a kid and i used grok to undress myself would it be considered CSAM and could i drag them into a court with that? 'Cause I am sure if something like that started, there would have been a lot of underage people who were undressed using grok publicly in the internet.

@GossiTheDog I find it hard to believe no one has queried Grok to undress Musk, but I do find it highly likely it was programmed to avoid such a command whilst allowing CSAM.

To be honest, I've taken the understanding that this stuff is being done also (and especially) to underage people. And that Grok has ability to "estimate age", but still allows this. Not inly that, but what kind of stuff is in it's training data, if it can generate accurate enough material of the sort. At least I assume that the images are "sufficient enough" for those who prompt them.

@alihan_banan @GossiTheDog If I'm reading 18 US Code § 2252A (https://www.law.cornell.edu/uscode/text/18/2252A), then yes, a kid asking for Grok to create CSAM of themselves and Grok 'delivers' that image as a reply, xAI or X could face potential civil liability since Grok itself can't be held criminally liable.

I can't guarantee that in this scenario a child might not be held liable to some degree. Probably not criminal prosecution since a minor can't "knowingly" solicit CSAM of themselves, but some measures may still be applied, like counseling or some civil consequences. Then again, I'm just a gal on the Internet, not a lawyer, so 🤷‍♀️

Example search:

                                from:@grok filter:media

                                Direct link:

I hope Cisco enjoy directly funding sexual abuse material.

Wired has a look at videos created on Grok. Includes knives being inserted into vaginas, “very young” people having sex. Around 10% are CSAM and still online. xAI declined to comment.
