"Would you ever put a prediction market in Roblocks? Let kids bet with their robucks?"
Insane combinations of words that should never occur. Anyone even discussing such questions ought to be put into prison. However...
Moments like this make me more determined to help kids build an internet they can control.

In the US churches are excited about trans people existing and other deeply counterproductive nonsense. What if we could redirect them to being mad about gambling again? That seems like a much more productive project if they can't be convinced to help the poor... which the Bible says they ought to be.
Gambling is a sin. Do your conservative politicians care about how it's destroying people's lives at all?

Of course, addressing gambling would mean addressing the "sins" of members of their own congregation. It's easier to rail against outsiders you know nothing about than making your own house better.

They have not implemented this yet. But I think roblocks has many bad actors and you can't count on them to really look out for bad content. I requires more supervision.

If I knew a kid who was "really into" roblocks I'd talk with them about what they like about it and just have sincere interest on what it's offering them.
Don't tell the Australians but roblocks *is* "social media" just as much facebook or mastodon. And as you know I'm a big fan of social media. At the same time, many of the implementations for young people are just terrible.
I hope this isn't coming off as either too critical or nosy.
