Now I am from Ohio and I have seen Niagara in the deep of winter. I'm not warm weather girl.
But I also have electric mittens with only the thumb and finger free for extra warmth so I look like a crab. My jacket was made for winter storms ... on boats.
Each boot is the size of my head.
I'm am not a "winter person" I'm scared of being cold and very prepared.

@futurebird Same. We rarely run around in the summer prepared for too much heat but the first frosty night in September and the car is loaded with coats, blankets, etc "just in case..." We literally, and have for years, have a "winter" kit ready to slide into the car.

I have a winter kit for myself. Every winter i stock up on sleeping bags/blankets, decent, but on sale and keep a few in the car. Sadly, there are a lot of folks who are unhoused in our city. I sometimes run out of them in a week, I will stop and walk back and join them on a corner and give them a blanket. I also know i have given one person a couple over the years.
I get a few store cards for coffee shops who I know are tolerant and hand them to people. They know who I am giving them to. They can sit and warm up for 1/2 hour.
I am fortunate, I can afford to do this.
Stay warm friends.
