The other part that bothers me is that there are a lot of things that all children do that get coded as gendered so they get suppressed in some kids and encouraged in others when they really should be encouraged for all.
Playing with dolls and climbing things, for instance.

This reminds me of discworld's trolls:

They don’t realise that many can BE a number. As in: one, two, three, many, many-one, many-two, many-three, many many, many-many-one, many-many-two, many-many-three, many many many, many-many-many-one, many-many-many-two, many-many-three, LOTS.
Perl6 supports the Roman numeral unicode code points. I don't know if it supports cuneiform too but it definitely should.
