@GottaLaff By law (2023 National Defense Authorization Act), this can only be *legally* done with an impossibly high 2/3 majority in the Senate or separate legislation. In practice, I think all know by now that the current admin wouldn't come to the aid of an ally facing invasion, so it's on its deathbed anyway. I wouldn't bet a Canadian nickel on rump NATO pulling together, but on the plus side these countries will no longer be expected to support the US in foolish Asian adventures.
