@RandomStickman @futurebird There was a station on the R line that was badly damaged by the September 11 attack. It was closed for a few years, barely lit, and quite terrifying to ride through, especially the first time when I wasn't expecting it. Absolutely eerie!

There is something about an empty train “not in service” passing at “minimum station speed” that is elegant, and grim. -
There is something about an empty train “not in service” passing at “minimum station speed” that is elegant, and grim.@futurebird There are other secret versions of NYC? You mean besides the mental map I, as a non-driver, have that so baffles my car-owning friends? I can believe it.
I've long held the belief that there is a magical Irish pub somewhere in NYC where, if you sneak out a back door, you are transported to a similarly magical (but inverse) pub in Dublin. I haven't found it yet, but there are still a few Irish pubs I haven't visited.

Hey, Boston: Tim Horton’s > Dunkin’ Donuts.@sendtherunners Fika, a small Swedish coffee shop chain in NYC, was better than either, but unfortunately they closed a few years ago. Kind of a metaphor for how this series has gone.
